Customer Testimonials
Our weeks run from a Saturday morning to a Friday afternoon,
September through October (see below for 2008
dates). This gives you 6 full days of fishing.
Guests arrive in Smithers from Vancouver on Air Canada (1-888-247-2262),
on a Friday evening (night before you head into camp). Reservations
may be made at the Hudson Bay Lodge in Smithers for the overnight
stay (250-847-4581). If needed, please purchase your liquor, mixes and
tobacco in Smithers on the Friday evening, as camp does not supply
these items. The Hudson Bay Lodge now has a beer, wine and a liquor store on site for your convenience.
Saturday morning at 8:00am, you are met in the Hudson
Bay lobby where the Babine Steelhead Lodge van will transport
you and your gear to the Babine River weir. This trip is 75 miles
on a logging road and takes approximately 1 3/4 hours. You will
be met by the guides, who will then take you down river by jet boat
to the lodge.
This trip is roughly 45 minutes. We suggest when packing to have your waders
accessible to be put on for the boat ride down river as it can be chilly. It also makes it
easier to get from the boat to shore upon arrival at the lodge. Your days fishing will start
after you get settled, obtain the necessary licences, and have a
delicious hot lunch prepared by our chef. You will fish guided Sunday through
Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Feel free to fish the "Home Run" after coming in at 5:00pm.
On the Friday, you will fish the morning, then have a barbecue
lunch before you are taken back up river to the weir. You are then
driven to Smithers in time to catch the evening flight back to Vancouver.
Transportation from your place of residence, to and from Smithers,
and accommodations and meals in Smithers are the guest's responsibility.
